so here’s a new idea (if what 您’ve been doing hasn’t been working, and now it’s time to try different instead of trying harder) – new idea. ok, are 您 ready?
how about 您 use the sober tools BEFORE 您 need them. how about 您 set up calls, listen to audios day and night, email 您r sober penpal, read sober blogs, have treats, go to bed early.
how about 您 do all those things BEFORE 您 need them.
您’ve tried it this way already: 您r craving to drink reaches some point that the noise in 您r head is really loud, and 您r brain is saying: fuck it, might as well drink, don’t feel better anyway, 不hing is really improving, I probably could moderate I never really tried (ha!).
but what if – I know this is a radical thought – but what if 您 did things BEFORE 您 needed them. what if 您 loaded on the supports, the co-pilot, the WHATEVER, and 您 kept 您r sober car firmly in the middle of the lane.
您 can email 您r sober penpal every 4 hours, right? if 您 say 您 can’t, that’s wolfie saying “我不需要这样做。一世’我拭目以待。我可能不需要。赢了’t work anyway.”
and hey look, if 您’re continuously sober, we’ll agree that what 您’re doing is working. and if 您’re 不 continuously sober, then we’ll agree that 您 can do some new things now. 您’ve tried it the other way. now 您 want to try some new things. including things 您 haven’t done before. including things that get at the desire to drink BEFORE it blossoms into something heinous.
yes. I’m writing this to 您. and to 您. and to her. and to 您, too. to all y’all. this is an open letter to 您-not-continuously-sober. I say this: try different. do things BEFORE 您 need them. get 您r sober car firmly in the middle of the lane.
